REAR BRAKE UPGRADE ??
Moderator: martauto
Does anyone know if there's a bigger rear disc that'll go straight on a 325 rear end, and retain the handbrake drum/set-up ???
I would make a spacer to sit the std rear caliper further out to suit
Also, I believe one of the 7 series master cylinder (25mm cyl)goes straight on the 325 servo but not sure which model ??

I am always looking to find ways of losing weight (off my E30) so all suggestions welcomed

E32 master cylinder will fit, but will need T-Piece adapter for front lines, as E30 master cylinder has twin output for front wheels, E32 has single.
E30racing.com.au - Like Production BMW Cup, but upside down!
Does yours have ABS DJS? All the E30's I've pulled apart have had 2 outlets, one front, one rear for the ABS block, where it splits to all 4 corners.djs325 wrote:E32 master cylinder will fit, but will need T-Piece adapter for front lines, as E30 master cylinder has twin output for front wheels, E32 has single.

Hi,
do you mean something like that? It´s a 294x19 rear disc from E46 328i with adapter for Porsche caliper. It´s also possible to fit a rear caliper from BMW like M5 E34. Fit´s under 15 inch ATS DTC rim.
For a brake upgrade you can use mastercylinder from E32, but you need T-adapter.
Regards
Christoph

I forgot,
with this disc you can use your stock handbrake system. Drum is the same like stock 325i disc.

I used an E46 M3 rear disc and calliper combination (with custom bracket for the calliper) , but to get the handbrake to work you will need to machine the inside of the disc, which I didn't need on our race car.

I've only ever heard of the 735 and 750 being discussed regarding this. I just assumed a continuity throughout the range. I can't say what the 740i is on the BMC front. Apologies!mccarthy wrote:even the 740? had a look on realoem and only the 735 and 750 have same m/c part no.'s or is the 740 also a 25mm?AlpineAde wrote:E32 735i up will do it.

Hi,
last sunday i stay in Hockenheim for a Trackday / Touristicdriving. I had my first rollout after the winter to test the new brakesystem with Brembo calipers in front and rear. I use the original mastercylinder from 320i with 20mm/19mm but no brakebooster. The braking balance is perfect. No "overbraking" at the rear tires, normal pedalway and the brake is perfect to dose. For cars with brakebooster it will be better to use the mastercylinder of 7 E32 with 25mm. Otherwise you will have with small power on the pedal blocking wheels. The brakingpower is not so good to dose.
I think you know what i mean.
