After 3 years at 7,000rpm our head gasket finally gave up the ghost at Goodwood on Friday - luckily right at the end of the day and spotted before it caused any problems... Can anyone recommend an upgraded one e.g. Ireland engineering's ? Also while we are at it are ARP bolts recommended for a track car ?
Timing belt and tensioners to be done too but is there anything else worth doing while heads are off ?

Paul, I'd opt for an OEM gasket.

yo need a weak area to fail in case of cooling issues, uprate this area and its core plugs or cracked head/block...

Genuine BMW gaskets will eat 10 psi of boost happily for 45K ( proven by me E86 YKK ) and still go for more, food for thought maybe ?

Thanks Ant... OEM seems to be the general consensus. :thumb:
