Folks,

Have I made an error in judgement in ordering a Safety Devices roll cage???

Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Depends, have you got a car to put it in?

Oh yes - I have the car - just having some major issues with the supplier - a lot of delays and now being severely messed around in terms of delivery.... :-x

Did you pay for it on the Visa?

Yep - think I might be making that call to get a refund! Darn shame given that I ordered this cage specifically for harness bars etc etc....

Still trying to get a resolution - will let folks know bad or good as soon as I get a result.

Anyone with experience of OMP cages?? - at least I can get those off the shelf..... :)

Well the point I was going to make is if you are really getting arsed about phone them and put the wind up them, inform them that if you do not have the required goods in perfect condition ASAP you will contact your credit card company informing them the terms of sale have been broken, no goods supplied and you want a refund.

Mention things like contacting their local trading standards too, and if they can afford to loose a sale at this time and in this financial market we really ought to be buying shares in them, they should roll over and play ball.

If not you get your money back and start again.

Personally if I was going bolt in i'd choose the SD cage

It's worth the wait fella. They have to set the machines up to build the cages for each type of car (not just bm) Who ever you order the cage from they will have the same delay unfortunatly.

If they didn't advise you of a wait in making the cage then it seems a bit crap. Phone them up and talk to them, do the company even know the problem exists? Give them a chance, if they fuck you about, then use the Visa thing.

How long have you been waiting? What was the quoted lead time when you ordered?

Folks,
All sorted - thanks for all the advice and help. Cage will be with me with a slight delay which has been explained as a problem at source, not with the dealer - plenty to get getting on with in the meantime - leaks in footwells, racing seats, big brakes, Z3 rack etc etc...
Cheers,
Mikey _boy

Amazing what a phone call can do to calm things down. :thumb:

dont put your seats in yet, otherwise they will be coming straight back out to fit your cage.
