im converting my fronts to coil overs but unsure what lbs spring to use. its a 316 shell, stripped out, fibreglass bonnet, and a 4 cylinder engine in it, (non bmw).
would like to know what lbs springs do people use and what open lenght are they. thanks.

I use a 140N and 140mm long spring with a helper on top. Roughly 680lbs, that's quite hard. the KW kit comes with a 400lbs spring front and 560 (ish, it's progressive) rear.
As softer the spring you go as more trouble you may run into in terms of suspension travel.
There are two thread with coil over conversion, mine and handpapers. May be worth reading through that as well.

I'm using 6" 350LB fronts with shortened GAZ inserts built to my specifications and it's reasonably firm at the moment without being uncomfortable
450LB ers will be going on when the 2.5 lump goes in
Willl have to adjust the height up a bit for the mot tho as i haven't ordered helper springs yet
