Sunroof removal?

Has anyone got any pics or tips for removing the manual metal sunroof in my 1986 320i

im wanting to get rid of it and weld it up ready to fit a cage

its welded fella....... use a grinder to chop the sunroof cartridge out, then on the roof skin you need to knock the lip around the sunroof upwards to make a nice sitting place for your 20 gauge tin. Weld in place, skim over with bridge filler This will not crack if done properly and bobs your uncle
