I know we have a pictures section BUT in reality it's for polished deep dishes cabs etc...no offence - each to their own...

So I'm looking for Pictures in the Motor sport / track day section for Zoners who spend more on oil & fluids than polish and chamois leathers..

Ok, my 1988 325i, first ever purchase off ebay as a standard tidy 325i
Weight now 1055 kgs with cage.
3.61LSD (needs rebuilding and tightening)
Poly bushed all tound
Bilstien sprintline Shocks & Springs kit (I want coilovers)
Zone chip - engine is standard
air induction (with missing NS headlight)
Straight through exhaust, no cats or boxs to be seen!
braded hoses and ebc yellow stuff pads,
5:1 fluid,
OMP RS seats,
Willams 5 point harnesses,
OMP bolt in 6 point cage,
toyo R888 tyreson BBS 15" wheels
Total cost £3000

Used Mainly for Track days and Hill Climbs but it's road going too.

Pretty sure most of you have seen my build thread.

From this
Image

18 months later to this

Custom cage (nightmare) roll cage
H&R coilovers
Std engine with a good service
Torque technique exhaust
Fully poly bushed
Fibre glass bonnet and adjustable rear spoiler
Placcy windys
AP brake bias
Z3 shifter
EBC pads and discs
One cobra evo with 6 point harness
Std wheels furbed and coated black
R888's
1060kg's. That's about as low as I can get it without going to extreme or very expensive measures.
loads of other bits and pieces I cant think of right now.

I am loving this thread and the cars!

All stunning!

This is my beast in the making!

Spec is

1989 325i sport,

Gaz coilover suspension,
Eccentric superflex bushes,
4.10 lsd (not fitted yet)
e36 steering rack
hottunning exhaust manifold
standard exhaust (i will only end up blowing the baffles out of it anyway :D )
Big bore throttle body
cat cam 273 273 degree cam
Tailored chip to suit from Ant @ A-tec
Pacet Electric fan kit and viscouse fan delete
Omp 6 point bolt in cage (welded as well)
Omp bucket seat
sabelt harnesses
stack oil temp guage
Toyo R888 tyres

Total cost of the car and build is probably approaching £2750 but i have done all the labour myself :D

Me racing up the hill, i have fitted the new suspesion now so hopefully it won't roll so much!

Image

I am thinking about orange wheels, what do you think??

It's had a quick strip and lost about 100kgs. Fitted with sport bilsteins and lower springs.

Great thread!
Here's mine, a little less costly than some. Sold my Westfield and bought a Tech 1 Sport for £1250, the car is standard running gear (including suspension), stripped out, sorted safety first with bucket seats, roll cage and harness'. Green stuff pads and Toyo proxes. In ntime the suspension will be sorted with polybushes next on the list, total cost to date is about 2k and I've done Donnington, C'Combe, LLandow and got the Ring in June.

I love the weight of yours 'Card'

Some very expensive metal in the above photos. Time to bring it back down to the normal zone level: :)

Image

No one said anything about it being only e30's :P

Image

Image

Spec:

Pug 205 mi16 with a badly spaced number plate.

4 cylinder 1.9 16v engine
160bhp
80psi cold idle
45psi hot idle
39 psi very toasty idle
Surely a record for an mi16!

Partially stripped interior
Weight: About 870kilos
4 Speedline wheels with full racing slicks
2 Speedlines with toyo r888
2 Speedlines with toyo t1r's
EBC front pads for stopping
Adjustable front and rear suspension coming soon

Future plans:
Fit above suspension
Fit a cage
Fit some nice bucket seats
Probably fix it when it breaks

All in all, it owes less than a grand :D

A pal here has one in Rally spec similar power - nice

Anyway - Back to E30's  winkeye

Here's mine.

Almost ready:

Image

Brakes/Suspension: ATE Powerdiscs, EBC pads (yellows and greens), Eibach springs, Koni yellow adjustables, M3 caster bushes, E32 Brake Master Cylinder, AP Racing 600 fluid.

Seating: Recaro Pole Position shell

Exhaust: Supersprint cat-back, 6 branch manifold and hi-flow cats (manifold and cats to be fitted).

Engine: worked over cylinder head, Schrick 272 degree cam, BBTB, match ported inlet manifold (parts already with me, just got to install)

Recording: Go Pro Motorsports camera

And I am looking at Motec/Haltech aftermarket management.

The car is a street/track bastard so can't go too much into stripping the guts out of it.

here's mine. bit of a work in progress atm due to too much thinking and not enough dooing, and a few crap decisions.

current spec:

-Spax adjustable suspension kit 60mm drop (getting the Gaz coilover kit later this year)
-e46 m3 cab rear top mounts
-EBC yellow stuff all round with EBC turbo groove discs
-shagged 5.1 fuid going to change it out for Moutul RBF racing fluid.
-sparco pro 2000 seats, omp alloy mounts.
-scorpion exhaust
-chip
-k&n pannel filter
-stock M20 motor thats just had a freshen up with plugs, hoses, gaskets, oil, filters ect. on 70k so still going strong.
-12, 15 inch bbs alloys 8 with R888's on.
-Z3 steering rack with hoses from DaveM3
-and just ordered. safety devices B6 18 point roll cage with front triangulation.

so not really finished yet but good enough to have some fun in for the mean time.

Image
took the sunroof tray out the other day after putting the job off for weeks. managed to bend the roof slightly, but my trusty pannel beater will sort that out while plateing the roof as if the car never had a sunroof.
Image
i hope kevo doesnt mind me using his pics but this is the cage i have ordered. went with this one as it mounts to the rear turrets for strength wich is a good thing with the Gaz coilovers. and didnt want the hassle of a custom cages weld in. so this is the next best thing.
Image
Image

stuff i need to do to finish it is
-Gaz coilovers.
-wilwood brake kit,
-fibre glass bonnet and boot,
-sump and tank guards
-hydraulic handbrake, bias valve, lines in car
-extinguisher plumbed in.
-get it log booked.
-fit new engine, dont know what im fitting yet but will be 200bhp plus.
then just pretty stuff like
-guages
-flocked dash
-carbon interior pannels.

but before any of that i just want to drive it.

found a pic of when my mate had it and did our local hill climb in it (same one as Trise30rally did).
Image

then it wasnt the greatest, standard suspension, needed a good service, crap tyres. wrong diff oil, well i think it was it certainly locks a shit load better since i changed the oil. so if i dont beat his time there is something wrong with me.

On my list too, nice neat instal, use a clutch resevoir bottle, and slightly mod a new bracket so it sits on the same mount as the clutch resevoir- another bit of genius from Dave Kear.

Have a look on Len Colleys car
