I AM BUILDING AN M20 ENGINE TO GO IN MY STAGE RALLY CAR, IT'S GOING TO BE A STANDARD BOTTOM END, JUST BALANCED AND REBUILT MAYBE A BIT OF WIEGHT OF THE FLYWHEEL  . GOING TO RUN A 6 BRANCH MANIFOLD, CHIPPED ECU, BIGGER THROTTLE BODY AND 99 OCTANE FUEL.
WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST CAM FOR MY MONEY TO GET EXTRA POWER WITHOUT LOADS OF OTHER MODS, I WILL PUT NEW SPRINGS IN TO MATCH, I WANT IT RELIABLE. WOULD A POWER BOOST VALVE BE REQUIRED OR ARE THEY A WASTE OF TIME.
MANY THANKS DAVE.......

Firstly don't write in caps!

What is your budget? Your money maybe better spent on other things.

I can't see an off the shelf chipped ecu making use of 99octane fuel or even 97 octane.

A power boost valve is a waste of time.

For cams Ant at A-tech can get you a catcam for a reasonable price and give you good advice on which would be best for you.

Caps Lock could be turned off, it makes you look like your shouting.

As long as the car is chipped to run on 99 octane fuel use it, otherwise its a waste of time as e30's don't have knock sencers.

Powerboost valve is a waste of time, how does supplying more fuel than an engine needs increase power? if anything powerboost valves directly correlate with engines that overfuel and engine fires.

As for cam any of the performance cams give a good increase over the stock cam, but with a very lumpy can and light weight flywheel you will loose drivability, too lairy a cam and you will struggle to pass emmisions and get MOT too. The cam will be reliable in that it won't just snap!
