Hi

I got this from s14.net maybe it should be added to the rack wiki

Jason

Thanks Steffen,

I couldn't find BMW Part#'s on the rack.
After going around a couple of hours on the internet searching for ZF cross reference #'s, I ended up with the same conclusion, but wasn't sure.

I'll post some of the information from Uwe's steering rack thread as a summary, so that others who have ZF #'s doing quick steering conversions will have a easier time to match up the ratios and part numbers in one area:

Engine
mm/ per.
Rev BMW Part # ZF Part #

E30 Std
36.5 mm
32 13 1 092 335

E30 M3 2.3 & 2.5
38 mm
32 13 2 225 556

E36 M3 3.0
39 mm
32 13 2 227 191

E36 Std
45.5 mm
32 13 1 096 280 = ZF 7852 955 227

E36 M3 3.2
45.5 mm
32 13 1 096 280

E36 Z3 M
45.5 mm
32 13 1 096 280

E46 Std Std
50 mm
32 13 6 755 065

E85 Z4 M
51 mm
32 13 7 836 844

E36 Z3 1.8 - 3.0
53.5 mm 32
13 1 095 575

FYI: I've driven a Z3 1.9L with a 53.5mm rack it felt too nervous and fast on the track, not allowing as much precision when the rear lets go. Since I've got the Std. 45.5mm rack I think it'll be a good ratio.
