Hi guys

I'm turning my 318is into a track car, and I'm mounting a pair of Omp Rs seats , they have a side mount attachment, but i was wondering if anyone has any experience and do i need anything else (subframes, additional brackets) to mount them in the car???

Thanks

We have a 320is track car and have fitted cobra seats. They can be ordered with subframes that when attached to the seat bolt straight to the original floor fixings, which makes it very easy to fit them. I'd contact OMP or Demon Tweeks to see if they do an e30 subframe for your seats, otherwise you'll struggle making up brackets to fit them in securely.

I altered some general frames for the OMP RS seats and they are mounted on the original mounting point on the floor of the car, they're a bit untidy but they'll do.

What were the cost of your frames to fit the OMP seats? Mine worked out at £22 a pair but needed alteration...

Any pictures of the frames you bought?

Can't see how it would fit. OMP do a set of mounts to convert base mount seats to side mount, but not the other way round.

Looks to me that the side mounts mount ontop of them, and they mount between the car and side mount??

Which will raise the seat, at the same time- nice

If you can send the seats and mounts back, cobra do e30 side mounts for thier side mounted seats- see deal thread

If not its a case of drilling the floors and making a safe/strong mount, I use a roll cage tube running through the floor, but thats a bit involved

Thanks mate, it's gonna be a baptism of fire, as they'll be fitted in the guest house garage at the ring, on the day we arrive, as they are coming over from the uk, fingers crossed, LOL

Looks like if you get a standard set of side mounts then they may bolt together with what you've already got and possibly match up with the original mounts.
