Brake bias

Any of you track drivers run any kind of brake bias kits. I was thinking it might be a good idea, especially in slightly wetter conditions to stop the rear wheel locking up.

Any of you use one and if so how successful is it?

Nope. Never had problems with the rears locking either. Although i run standard pads and disks on the rear and uprated on the front.

Yes, I ran a tilton one on the E30 and a custom one on the E36, IMO it's pretty essential, especially if you don't have ABS, tilton make some lovely bits and that would be what i'd recommend

We have been looking at one of the versions which works on a lever. Im my opinion that would be the better option as you know exactly where you are with adjustment rather then the knob type which is infinetly adjustable but hard to detect.......

My car has ABS which is one of the reasons I thought it would be a good idea. I want to be able to stop the ABS coming in (if it still works of course) too early and effectively reducing my braking capability.

It appears to be a good mod for reasonable money.

I have the lever version on mine with abs, works well but I'm planning to make the abs switchable so I can turn it of on dry days and switch on when wet.

I used to run a lever type and they are ok for the money, but not enough adjustment or effective enough IMO for what I needed, part of the reason why I changed it all, i now run an SPA digital bias gauge next to the adjuster and it tells me exactly what the split is, a lever will not do that so although it might feel good in a certain postion, you still won't know exactly what that position is in terms of %age split, it also helps with getting the braking spot on and deciding which size MC's to use, provedn invaluable when I was getting the brakes sorted
