Last year or so I made up some brackets for my bc rollovers which I welded onto the strut slieve. I've never been100% happy with it and from memory criticism was that it could be done better. Since I'm starting to bolt things back together now I thought I would do it better this time around. Below is how it looks now, only pics I have at the min

Any advice on how I can improve on this and make it better? I'm not at the pc but from googling previously I've found some companies that do a bracket that slides over the strut and is locked with a locking ring. Would this be a better way to go or can I make up a better bracket than what I have and weld it on?

Was going to say, there are off the shelf brackets out there that don't require welding which I would be inclined to use, purely from an aesthetic standing. Looks decent enough though

I don't think the angles the linkage twists at is ideal though.

Ross where have you seen those brackets? I've only found a few manufacturers who use them on their coils, some chimeras brand was willing to send me a pair though.

I don't mind it looking more aesteticly pleasing though.

To be honest, your bracket looks fine.

My e36 hsds have a separate collar which is threaded and has a lock ring top and bottom to hold it tight, although to be honest, it doesn't look like you'd have enough room to fit it between the strut mount and lower spring perch.

I wouldn't worry too much about the angles of the drop links, as long as the joints have enough articulation not to bind, They get to some pretty tight angles on a standard m3 at full lock.

Sorry forgot to reply, not sure what manufacturers I have seen them on but I'm tempted to say I have seen BC's with them before, could be worth an email.

Idol, it will be something like cling film. Probably using Built Hamber product or similar to strip the arches that you can't let dry out. Meant to be really good gear

It was exactly that! Bilthamber deox gel with cling film to stop it from drying out and going hard.

I can't remember if I tried BC or not, will drop them a mail later on.

Harry, I can't remember for sure but that might have been the coils at their lowest. I'll have a look at hsd as well when I get a chance.

Nitron do a clamp that fits the threads, you would have to confirm the thread size though I imagine, may be different, not sure, either way let me know if you get anywhere as I could do with the same for mine 8)

Would an appropriately sized sleeve clamp with, say, a 1.5-2mm steel fitting with the appropriately sized hole do the job?

With said plate made to fit using those nuts. Don”˜t know if it would take the load? Or deform the strut enough to stop the piston moving freely?
