Hello all,
Was at Donington yesterday and did my first track day in the Touring. I hit an issue in the morning whereby I couldnt fit the towing eye to the front since the threads had rusted away and so I couldn't screw it in. Apart from welding the towing eye in place, is there another cheap/easy/better solution to this ?
I also hit what I think was fuel starvation coming out of Coppice - was ok on a full tank but anything under half a tank and it would hit a wall at 5k rpm - has anyone seen this before ?
Cheers.
First trackday in the jalopy - a couple of questions...

silicone the towing eye in place (just hope you don't have to use it).
Fuel starvation is always an issue for road cars at coppice due to the nature of the track, not too sure how to sort that tbh, not driven round donnington for about 5 years.

You could get a fabric towing eye from demon tweeks or the like.
It happens a lot, especially on long bends and more so on right hand bends in my experience, the simple way around it is keeping it topped up (you can buy a 20 litre gerry cans for around 20 quid from halfords or machine mart).
Or you can buy what iirc is called a swirl pot which is like another mini tank that goes in the boot which is kept full and prevents starvation all together. This is more for race cars tbh but there only a few hundred pounds.
