i have been using this forum while getting a race car built (pre 93/ttrs). Just had it on a rolling road today - 191hp (flywheel), which i am very happy with a it has not had too many mods but just been rebuilt by the great chap who put the car together - happy to pass on his number, the garage is Dorking way.

NOOb - i think he is about £40/hr. But would have to check. He knows his onions.

When you click on the pic, it opens a new browser window but the pic is still the same size as the preview.

When you click the picture imageshack has a "full size" option below the image. Hit that and the image opens up full size.

That looks pretty tasty. Was hoping it would be a 2.7 so you wouldn't be racing in the same class as me no offence :D (TTRS class D up to 2.5) as I'll be eaten alive @ kicking on for 200 brake. 318is, all standard, tho should be chipped/mapped before next season.

Bian28 - i would love to put on triple webbers next year and i think that pushes me up a class with the 2.7 boys. But for now, lets take it easy and learn the ropes.

Honestly, mate, it's not a problem. The picture click takes you to the imageshack gallery and people can click the "full size" from there. I can view all your images full size.

Not for me mate.
Maybe it's a browser issue as I'm still using IE6.

EDIT, my popup blocker was stopping it. I can see the fullsize pics now :)

You lucky man! I am strongly considering PBMW or TTRS, I watched them at Snetterton and Brands last season and there awesome!

How much have you spent in total?

How much more do ypu reckon before that first race of the season?

Is it your first race season?

yes 2010 will be my next season, so I really am not that qualified to answer your questions.

For me it all started when I bought a 2 door, 325i (non sport) no sunroof on ebay for £650 for a few track days. I fitted some 888's (sticky tyres), uprated the suspension (Bilstein B8's - now have coilovers so he B8's will be sold) and put some better pads and better bake fluid and went to some track days and 'drove it like I stole it'. I have had an M3, RS6, TVR etc but this was far more fun. I started to strip it out, put in seats and cage and belts for safety then thought why not race.

I found a super guy down in Dorking area (number available) who did all the spanner work for me as I live in central london and don't have a garage. He is very reasonable and very knowledgable with a big racing background.

Anyway he fitted:
LSD, quick steering rack, solid steering guibo, body repaint, GRP bonet and boot, alloy tank, no surge sump, camber adjusters on front wheels, strut braces, uprated engine (another storery), plumbed in fire system, cage, harness, seats, GAZ coiloves, bigger caliper and discs on front, brake bias, as well as taking out ABS and lots of old wiring also heater is out.

You don't need to go to this length and if you had a garage and were a bit handy you could probably get on the grid for about £5,000 including the car (not helmet etc). But Obviously you can spend a lot more. If I was on a tight budget I would leave the engine standard, fit the essentials (cage/harness etc) and then spend the rest on an LSD and suspension and brakes, and some 888's (tyres).

As for how much I am i for....more than my lifes worth risking that info getting anywhere near my wife!

Cheers for the detailed reply!

Im in a simular possition as you was i.e. got the car with a few mods and done a few track days and i am totaly hooked!

I have researched it on the forums so i know 5k is a ruff low end figure, i was more interested in what the damage was for all the work on your e30.

Enough said about your trouble and strife finding out :wink:

Im guessing its more than a lot of the PBMW cars!

I am not into five figures put it that way, to be honest I don't keep a record on purpose! A few of my parts were second hand (LSD) or not top name brands also help/supplies from forum members (strut braces/camber/alloy tank/big sump). The engne work is where it can go silly. I had one quote for £10k for the engne, but probaby spent a fraction of that as my spanner man did it. If you want I can give you the number of my chap and he can talk to you about budget and spec. All he does is race cars/performance cars, and is a very reasonably priced one man band. Plus he has learnt a lot from my car - yours would probably be better!

I hope to see you racing next year.
