Where would be a good place near me where i could go and what sort of prices am i looking at to use the track?

Any information would be very much appreciated..anything at all

I hope to hear some good things from you lot

check with your local track, some have different rules but mainly run what youve brung days require a non fluid leaking road legal car or dedicated track car with cage etc, your drivers licence and a scrutineer check before you go on for loose items in your boot etc.
you can hire helmets on the day and take a spare can of petrol and replacement brake pads and basic tools if you plan to drive home after.
take enough cash for a taxi home just in case you cant. :D

Norwich, got to be Snetterton. And because its so far away from everybody (except you) track days there are usually pretty cheap. Google motorsport vision for dates and prices, they own the circuit but other companies also hire it for track days so worth a general google search as well.

just go out and thrash away. youll be surprised just how much a normal road car is shown up with hard track action. even subarus etc arent quite upto the abuse unless modified, creaking and groaning as you fling them around. :D

Snetterton's also a pretty good place to go for your first trackday as there's loads of runoff and not much to hit if you did decide to leave the track in a hurry!

I did my first one there and it is a simple circuit to start on. To be honest if there is instruction available I would take it if you have never done this type of thing before. I thought I was an ok driver, but I was crap before the tuition, some days it is included, other times it costs around 20 quid for 30 mins.

No doubt you will get the bug though

Snetterton is just around the corner from you & dont forget Redgate the 1st corner only really needs a lift & no brakes to speak of ;)

Que?
Redgates at Donny - Riches is at Snetterton. Dunno about the braking bit, depends on the car, I guess. :)

First trackday I went to I drove an old 730i bmw that a friend and I picked up the day before the trackday, bought off ebay for 250 quid, changed the pads and discs for standard new ones, then woke up early drove 4 hrs to donington, spent the day taking it in turns ragging it around with no problems, then drove it home!

We were the slowest car there but I think we probably had the most fun!

the next trackday i spent a week getting my r5 gt turbo ready for it, i managed to get 5 mins down the road before it started cutting out..... day over.

Then the next time actually managed to get on track.... but in my daily driver e30 325i, let my friend have afew goes in it aswell, didnt want to stop doing laps!

doesnt matter what you have aslong as its in good mechanical condition, no oil leaks, doesnt overheat, fresh set of fluids will do no harm, just a good check over, as if it breaks down it could cause problems for other drivers, and will spoil your fun of going round.
