looking into getting a fibre bonnet just to make the front lighter due to fitting a m50. Who uses these and where could i get one from ? Could it be used on the road with no real problems?

Also heard about cutting some bits out of the front bumper ? any one got any pics or info on this?

gonna go a bit stripped out race style with the IS now

cheers simon

try this
http://www.xlraceparts.com/lightweight-panels-413-c.asp

The all white 325 with split rims modelling a couple of the parts is our car.
The bonnet and boot panels are pretty light, but not at all rigid, so have to be fitted with pins or other q/d fixings.

Most of the weight loss is from the hinges, catches, etc.
In our case the actual bonnet panel is only a little bit lighter than a stripped metal one (estimate around 1.5kg). Thats with all the strengthening ribs, etc removed leaving just the outer skin.
The bonnet hinge on its own is about 2 - 3 kg IIRC!!

From Memory std bonnet alone is 21kg and the ones i used to make where 5kg ? you would struggle to get a steel skin that light ?
