the pipes coming out of the bulkhead are either plastic or metal

Why do these fail ?


I had one fail where the conductor strip broke away (blue circle) the red circle shows the safety cutout - grime and corrosion can cause poor contacts here.
If I'm ever wandering around the scrap yard, I normally liberate them from and E30s I see.
£10 on ebay, you say?
