I am looking to renew the timing chain and associated parts on my E30 318is M42. Is there a complete kit that can be purchased?

There isnt a kit to replace the chain so it all depends on how deep you are going as in replacing sprockets, guides
etc.

If you can give me some indication as to what you want and an email address I will price it for you.

I’ve been doing a little bit of reading. I suspect I’ll need the following.

- timing chain
- cam sprockets
- crank sprocket
- deflection wheel
- tensioner
- all guides
- associated gaskets

I’m also after:

- rocker cover gasket
- sump gasket

I haven’t done this job on this engine before so I’d appreciate if you’d let me know if I have missed anything obvious or normally included in this job, seals, screws, etc.

Hello

I have added everything I can think of and emailed you a quote on a seperate email.

The top cam sprockets are no longer available so they are not included on the quote.

Upon initial inspection, I believe I have another issue that I wish to rectify before sinking a lump of money in to replacing all of the timing components.

I need to replace the following items:

- The four oil sprayer nozzles
- Timing chain tensioner
- Oil pressure bypass (upgraded version)
- Rocker cover gasket

I believe I will also require the following gaskets to replace the above parts:

- Lower sump gasket
- Upper sump gasket

I believe I have included everything required to replace the above components. If there are any additional gaskets or one time use bolts or the like required to replace the above, please let me know and include them in the quote.
