I assume you mean the e36 chassis number?
Not sure that its a good idea to put chassis number on public view but its probably been made into a drain cover or sumat by now.
so here goes : WBACB42000FFO1382

You won't want an e36 sump if the engine is going into an e30! You will want one from an m50 from an e34.

Neither would a vin from an e36 then if you want an e34 sump. I wanted to make sure that you knew that you needed an e34 sump before you buy a brand new one from the dealers which turns out to be wrong for the conversion.bimanut wrote:Just didnt think that chassis number for the E30 would be of much useCook318IS wrote:You won't want an e36 sump if the engine is going into an e30! This is the part numbers for the sump and that. There are two different ones, like Brett has said for the e36. I don't know the difference though. As far as i knew, the m50 ones were the same. Probably teaching you to suck eggs but make sure you buy a new sump gasket too.
HTH.

All a bit bloody confusing this.
I had a look at the link and that shows two different sumps for the E34 M50 ,before `94 & after `94.
Your right i would be gutted if the sump that turned up was the same one as i`ve already got.
(E36 M50)
The only idea i can think of is if there`s a difference between vanos and non vanos.
Mine being the non vanos.Apart from that i aint got a clue.
Thanks for the input

Well what I can say is that I have a non vanos e34 engine in my e30 and I didn't need to change the sump.

Either will do, as long as its for an E34 M50 engine it will fit, but not the iX 4WD obviously
