Paul,

Hope you are well?

Can you buy new brackets and rubbers?

The ones on the exhaust were fooked, so swapped over with some other brackets which I had but the backbox is way to high, think they're 320/325i brackets, not 318i.

I'd like the middle rubber also if that available?

Exhaust is two piece..... I think.... yes it is..... hmmm.... not 100% sure thinking about it, only handled it as one piece.

Thanks, Fozz.

Sweet!

Now the question is....

Are there differences in the brackets across the range?

I ask as the exhaust that I've fitted came off of a G reg 318i 4 door and had gone onto a F reg 318i 2 door and for some reason the centre box now rubs againt the heat sheild which goes around the tunnel.

It's not the engine as I also swapped that over, so same engine and exhaust but it don't fit right!

My only thinking is that the rear brackets are wrong ( Too shallow ) or the rubbers are too short, they look the same as on my 325i, are they diff?

Sorry for all the Q's, give me a turbo, ecu and intercooler, no worries, stock equipment and I'm falling on my arse.....

Thanks, Fozz.

The rear box brackets and rubbers are the same on M40 4pot and M20 6pot (2 part exhaust)cars .

Do you have the gearbox to exhaust bracket fitted as well?

Also the heat shield hasn't moved has it? :P

Paul,

Sorted this out eventually, took a few mins of head scratching then had my eureka momment.

Got car on the ramps, removed rear section, box etc

Placed specialised pipe bending tool ( read me a my fat arse ) on exhaust and pulled it down, the gearbox mount then slipped round and the whole section dropped to where it should be, fitted rest of exhaust and bolted it up, perfect.

What got me was the exhaust was bolted to another e30 shell with the same engine, which was swapped also and didn't fit at all, seems the gearbox mounting had been moved and this was upsetting the angle of the dangle.

All in all a cheap and succesful fix! For once......

Thanks for your help, I'll need new brackets soon as the exhaust has only a few months life left anyway.

Thanks, Fozz.
