Hi there.. Im just wondering what grade engine oil to use. (or what is the original engine oil BMW recommends)

Spark plugs : 16mm 3 electrode NGK BKR6EK or Bosch F7LDCR. The Champion RC8DMC can be used too. Note a 4 electrode platinum plug has been approved for the M42 engine with max. 100,000 miles life, BMW part# 12 12 9 071 003, NGK BKR6EQUP or Bosch FGR7DQP.
Installation torque 27-33Nm/20-24ft-lbs
Plug gap : As specified above, they are unadjustable (pregapped) otherwise 0.027"
Idle Speed : 850rpm

Cheers! BMW recomended me 0W40, but i want to use 5W50 (brought from Halfords).

lol what am i suppose to use? and where shell i purchase it from! I brought a (5lt) bottle of Engine Oil and it reads 'Fully Synthethetic Motorsport Oil' i brought it bcuase it actualy had a BMW E30 pic printed on the front.

Depending on how much you want to spend, Castrol magantec is a good bet, if you want to spend more, go for some silkolene pro s, available from the Oilman.

I want to use the best oil to be honest! money isnt a problem! can you please let me know where i can purchase the oil from?? i took the car to get the oil change and becuase i didnt knw what oil it is currently running on they declined to do it! can oil rates be changed as in 0W40 to 0W50?? (soory for asking stoopid Questions im only 19yrs old and my E30 is my first car :roll:
