You will be lucky to get any 2002 in a reasonable condition for under a few grand, but good luck. A few have popped up on ebay and P-Heads recently, maybe have a look at Classic Cars Weekly as there were a few in there too...

Hi
My mate has a 1600 in edinburgh just had the suspension overhauled and the body work proffesionaly done, new sills floor section, inner wings. I sorted him with a 02 turbo body kit to fit.
Currently needs the interior refitting after the body work gettign sorted, It might even have some T&T left
Worth the asking price just for the cost of the welding
Plus I have a tii stashed for a future M2 Conversion but I need top doller to part with it.
PM if you want the number for the 1600
Jason

I have a model 71 which needs a resto, 1 owner and still got the crinkly old V5. Needs lots of welding though. I originally got it as a spares car to serve me with bits for this beautiful old girl. This is nearly restored and comes out in the summer for sunday picnics. Eat my chrome Pacerpete

Sexy M10 rightness:

Lovely period cloth:

Resto shot of front strut:

They require a lot of work to get them right but are worth every penny. I would never part with this one for any amount of money - period.

I try to support Jaymic wherever I can. Faye there is good to deal with and they go out of there way to help. I have also, on occasion, bought bits from Linwar, Ian there is very good also.

Dameon that is as said stunning
Years ago I went to my local breakers and one had just been bought in (Model 71)
I enquired about it ''Its just been sat in some old boys barn, Ill find out how much we will take for it''
Great I thought so I popped straight round after college
It sold for £200 - Not to me
I prefer the Touring

02s are largely unloved and there are usually always a few corpses on stretchers on ebay for not a lot. Be prepared to spend a lot of time and money rescuing a turd and getting a very poor return on your investment when you are finished !

Or stick all your money in an Isa, start buying the Daily mail and dress in tweed and follow politics religiously...

Sounds like a much better idea than spending countless hours fighting a nasty rusty lefty chariot !

Your glass is half empty isn't it Peter
Even I'd avoid a touring like the plague. The chassis is a little wobbly in the rear because of the lack of any structure between the rear towers. The boot floor and rear quarters are proper NLA now too. Saying that, I do like the look of one.
Pete is spot on regarding cost. There are some Jaymic restored Tii's still floating around that can be picked up for around 10k. A lot of money but they were restored lovingly, not a backyard isopon fest with a pot and trowel. An '02 will take your money and bleed you dy if you're not careful. The trim is now serious money and lots more stuff is becoming NLA. Find one that's been loved and they are absolutely super little cars.

10 grand is a little steep although the cars Jaymic built were very nice. In reality £4000 is enough for a nice carburettor 2002 that's had the money spent in the right places. A 68-73 round tail light car with some period alloys is quite a pleasant thing. An E21 5 speed box is essential if you plan to use it properly.
There isn't a 2002 made that would get 10 grand from me although a Turbo is a nice (if rather unreliable) thing. The same money buys a 3.0CS Coupe which is 1000 times nicer to look at.

If you are not under stress and you can give it some time I have seen some of the 02 for sale on eBay.co.uk! When it comes to an 02 you should look for an late 2002 tii who is my favorite and I think I saw one on eBay in England and it got sold for around £500 ish (But it needed some TLC to get on the road again)
