A mate of mine just sold an engine to someone
now that somone is ringing back saying its the wrong engine -
he says the manifold on his old engine has 2 sensors on and the manifold on the engine he bought of my mate has no sensors.
insurance and tax checks out on the car to be that for a 1,9 318is - was there a massive differrence between k-reg and 96 318is engines? can manifolds be swaped? are crank position snsors in the same place in the blocks?

it seems i misunderstood the problem
the replacement engine is indeed a 1.9
the problem it seems is the destination car is running some different motronic or something as it has sensors in different places to where they were on the donor engine.
surely its a case of just swapping the inlet manifolds?
