Are any of you driving a manuall 4.4. saloon.
I'm weighing up my options, What is the fuel econemy like compared with a 2.5 auto.which is about 25 per gallon average.

Fuel consumption in mixed driving will be very similar, running costs on the other hand are in a different league ! :(

That's what i'm trying to work out if the running cost simular or well over. Insurance is the same tax is the same but how much is the up keep and fuel per month. ?

My E38 740( 4.4M62) auto did 19.2 mpg average Marc, didn't matter how it was driven, granny or caning always the same.

Up keep was high though, brake pads and bushes almost every 6 months........

It's not looking like a good swap at the moment cash wise. But I got the chance to have a really good one.

Right got it. Turned out to be an auto so no good to me at all but has every extra possible. Will be on e-bay very soon as I won't deal with 15 miles to the gallon.
