Okay, this is a bit of a random question, but a mate today said to me that injecting air into the gearbox during changes makes them quicker. Sounds like crap to me, but maybe someone on here knows better.

He seems to think that its the noise that is made by scoobys/other chaved up cars when they change gear.

Scooby changing gear is a dump valve which is an atmospheric dump valve, it releases excess pressure from the system and stops the turbo from stalling.

Gotta say thats a good one. Injecting air into the gearbox. :mad:

He's got a point, I suppose, there wouldn't be as much weight etc going around as there would be oil.

But still pretty pointless IMO.

Thanks for that lads, another myth busted lol. Yeah I have to say it sounded like a load of bull. But I thought I'd make sure before I hosed all over his bonfire.
