I need to change the battery on my E36 325TD, and i dont really wont to lose the settings in the radio or possible immob.......

Could i..............bastardize an in-car phone charger (the type that fits into the cigar lighter) and fit a 9v battery to the aforementioned phone charger for a few minutes while i change the car battery ?

Would it work ?

Somthing like this

A 9 volt battery do f*ck all... And you wont cock up the immobiliser memory unless you have an aftermarket system, but even then, i doubt it will go wrong. 99% of them have battery-back-ups.

If you're really that bothered about a few radio stations, then the best way to do it is to loosen the battery terminals. Connect a jump pack or jump leads (using another car or battery). Lift off the terminals and swap the batteries round. Put the terminals on the new battery.. Hey presto

Hope that helped?
