Am not an Alpina expert but should it not have a Alpina plate in the consul tray infront of the gear leaver? also thought Alpinas had trademark striped interior and that just looks like a Tech 1 wheel with a Alpina badge fitted, should that not be a 4 spoke wheel?

alpina badge on steering wheel looks like its been attatched by a 2 year old.
fako looking cam cover and inlet manifold
the much vaunted plaque is missing
dodgy splitter with more dodgy decals
i know alpinas are generally a mishmash of specs but this one looks dodgy to me. hopefully im wrong

Well it doesnt look like a fake because it have all the styling in order and its not uncommond that ppl take of the sticker stripes who is glued to the side of the car (alpina stickers)
That plate can sitt some veriouse places, some times over the glow box and some times under or over the ash-tray... But for me, it looks like a very tierd Beemer overall!

Loving the special P38/P40 limited 'coastal erosion' edition fuel filler cap upgrade!
Automatic will stifle any advantage the Alpina engine mods might have made anyway, and what's going on with all those extra bolts on the interior trim panels...

Surely that interior isn't right? Something doesn't look right about that motor.

Dross. The cam cover and inlet manifold look odd, the steering wheel is laughable, the filler cap equally laughable and as for all those extra fixings on the trim panels...ummmm....i wouldnt touch it.

It could well be genuine - but it's certainly not been looked after and you wouldn't be so vague about selling this car like you don't give a sh!t - at least make an effort
Previously owned loads of old E30s, E34s, a few E36s, E32s, E39s and an E38.
Currently in a diesel Audi - miss me old E30's....

A once proud turd now a festering council chariot. I reckon its a real one but time and countless undesirables/ souvenir hunters and the car killing scotch climate have all but finished it. The mind boggles how rusty and nasty it is underneath ?

Forgot to mention... What a shitter
Surely it should have sport seats, and those comedy wood screws holding up the door leathers
Oh and the qwality P40 holding the fuel filler together
Not to mention the insulation tape either side of the Alpina logo on the front
I wonder what his neighbours think of his front garden

I can only accept a cash payment for this auction.
that says it all.
and the fact the alpina sticker on the cam cover is the same sticker that has been put on the front spliter.

I have seen this in " flesh " so to speak as its fairly close to me...
altho as we all know plaques and service books can be bought freely on ebay nowadays
I think its just the B10 3.5 which iirc was just a 535i se with alpina dress up gooodies
personally I wouldn't touch it for that kind of cash but I am sure there are some who will
looks very tired now !!!
would prob go with pacer on this ...front spoiler is fibre copy, seats look as tho have been changed,..... wheels and clocks look orig...steering wheel as anyone can see is tech I with badge added ,when I seen it the plaque was there....and it used to be very nice looking car few years back and sported the "B10 ALP" plate....also when i seen it there was service book with built by "mark adkins" iirc. who as all the alpenis gurus ,will tell you he was head mech who built them at sytners.pacerpete

The font and rear B10 badges are not genuine, the "Alpina" scrip on the cam cover and inlet is not the correct font, I would have thought it should have sport seats. Is the boysen exhaust a stamped alpina one or just a boysen replacement?
Just contact Sytner Notingham with the reg and all will be revealed.
As a side note, in a book i have on alpinas, there is a road test on an Australian market C2 2.7 convertible and B10 3.5 (E34) from when the cars were new. Both had Mtech 1 steering wheels with an alpina badge in the middle as opposed to a propper alpina Momo 3 or 4 spoke steering wheel.

Not necessarily mate. I don't have a plaque on mine, I doo have the green sticker on the door pillar, the markings on the ecu and the letter from sytners.dom-1984-320i wrote:Am not an Alpina expert but should it not have a Alpina plate in the consul tray infront of the gear leaver? also thought Alpinas had trademark striped interior and that just looks like a Tech 1 wheel with a Alpina badge fitted, should that not be a 4 spoke wheel?
I think many specs could be personalised. Not sure as to why some did and some didn't have plates.

These are now very old cars worth very little and as a result easily obtainable by the lower echelons of society (that wasn't a dig Nathan !
) As a result repairs, if done at all ,are done on the cheap, morsels are often chawed /sold/replaced with standard/lesser parts.
From what i can see this car has its original wheels and engine, the correct colour on the intake and rocker cover is very diffiucult to replicate, this cars engine bits look correct if you discount the ebay/Kos stylee badges !
Being a scotch turd we can be fairly certain the correct £1500 alpina exhaust is long gone, probably replaced with an off the peg euros boysen system. The trim may be correct as a standard B10 package did not include a funky trim, it was all extra cost, indeed i have a genuine UK B10 3.5 in alpine white with blue comfort cloth trim !
The plaque missing is probably due to a 'souvenir' hunter, as are the original badges. The front spoiler no doubt got left in a hedge years ago and the steering wheel probably now adorns a 520 !
Unfortunately due to the amount of enquiries from losers with ebayed and BKd scrap , Sytners now charge £70 odd for a vehicle enquiry/verification. Hardly worth it on this as it looks like it is only suitable as a donor
