my mum owns a e45 tourer , after getting in today she noticed that the heater/air con blower has stopped working. she has the climate control system, the screen works but no fans come on at any setting and we can feel heat coming out but there just isnt a fan, ive checked about 10 fuses that i thought were vaguely connected to that system so what else could it be its pretty urgent as there's no way to de mist the windscreen at the moment!!!

thanks
Ash

my money's on the fan resistor thing. very common on e36, don't know about the e46. quite a cheap fix, on the e36 its accessible from the psgr side by the air con gubbins. hth

It needs code reading really. There can be quite a lot reasons. From just faulty fan motor, final stage unit aka "hedgehog" or just panel. There where feew Technical Informations about that problem but no recall.

They are, mate. Just do not expect, that nothing will worn. E46 is one of the most reliable BMW ever made.
