I ve seen a e34 525 tds, 5 speed auto 95 i think , what are they like , what goes wrong often ? its got 190k , , but assume they should do 250 k ok ?or not what sort of mpg would you get in london or ona run

25mpg in traffic, 35mpg on a run, oh and a bag when the injector pump dies. Unless it is VERY cheap and you are brave Or you are colour blind at fill up time, don't bother.

Sluggish with the auto box, heavy on fuel, unreliable £1000 (fitted) injector pump that is NOT replaceable DIY, £500 autobox which loses reverse gear and everything - starter, alternator, rad, dash cluster - is diesel only.exup wrote:Hi

You'd be better off with a 525i petrol. Economy isn't much worse and they're more reliable and shitloads cheaper to fix.
The only one worth having is a 325tds auto, the E34 is just a heavy old tank.
Mind you, compared with the E39 530d, the E34 was a paragon of reliability.
