Hi
I ve seen a e34 525 tds, 5 speed auto 95 i think , what are they like , what goes wrong often ? its got 190k , , but assume they should do 250 k ok ?or not what sort of mpg would you get in london or ona run

25mpg in traffic, 35mpg on a run, oh and a bag when the injector pump dies. Unless it is VERY cheap and you are brave Or you are colour blind at fill up time, don't bother. :(

Sluggish with the auto box, heavy on fuel, unreliable £1000 (fitted) injector pump that is NOT replaceable DIY, £500 autobox which loses reverse gear and everything - starter, alternator, rad, dash cluster - is diesel only.
You'd be better off with a 525i petrol. Economy isn't much worse and they're more reliable and shitloads cheaper to fix.
The only one worth having is a 325tds auto, the E34 is just a heavy old tank.

Mind you, compared with the E39 530d, the E34 was a paragon of reliability.
