Whats the engine code for the engine out of an e39 530?
And the code for the revised one?
How much do they go for (ballpark ish figure) and are they the same as an m50 when it comes to fitting into an e30?

M54, AFAIK these use a fly by wire throttle, so no cable to join onto your E30 pedal.

ahh... so.. erm... would need the pedal from the e39? Or maybe a mod involving the m50 throttle body throttle cable mount thing...
Just wondering as I saw the engine from one the other day up close and it looks identical to an m50, but has 214 bhp, and iirc the revised one (with direct port injection???) puts out a fair amount more?

I thought they were all 231 hp and 221 torque

hmm... I'm sure he said 214... may be wrong though... 270 was thrown around with regards the later one

Would be cool though.
I guess with things like the s50 being available and similar/better power its one of those conversions that gets passed over by most.
Shame though cos his car sounds so good and goes like shit off a shovel.
