Got chatting to a guy tonight who has a 525i on a F plate, he has owned it from new (£23k back in the day)

He has all the documents back to the original purchase order etc, by the sounds of it, it is a fairly basic spec I haven't seen it (he was driving a lovely macau blue 325i motorsport...)

Fairly open question, but what price ranges do these cars go for? get a feeling i could get it cheap cheap!!! :D

I had a G plate was looked after for first few years of life, had 169k on clock when i got rid of it, a bit tatty, sold it 300 quid, what spec is it? auto box? mileage? Should be able to get it cheap as they are not overly desired. If its a high miler check fuel lines, they rot like a bstard. Mine had load of old MOTs and some history, structurally sound, but steering and fuel lines were shot.

The one I bought (from our good friend and fragger Jonb) for the engine was an F plate 525i SE,again fairly basic spec, but did have an LSD,8 months MOT,lots of history, bit rough around the edges and with a whining wheel bearing, all this for £280.
Engine is the bollocks too with 155,000 miles.

Can't believe how much 535i sports are going for let alone 525i's.

any more than £300 walk away.

unless it comes with a driver and a butler.

ShepsEvo3- 535i sport is a weapon for good cheap money

also the m50 525i sports are good value too- no £3k for the car then £2k for the sills a la e30's

Guy basically just wants rid... He isn't short of money, quad garage & 3 BMW's! He hasn't used the 5 for 18 months or so. I just wondered if they had any value, other then in bits!

Might let it slide, but the 1 owner FSH got me going...

Worth asking on the E34 section of forum.bmw5.co.uk

E34's are good cars but generally demand peanuts, but they do have a following on this forum, especially if it's a sport?

Find out the spec mark...

A poverty spec 525i is almost as desirable as a poke in the eye with a stick. the e34 is a big ole bus so they get hooned from cold etc.

still one hell of a comfy cruiser though. decide your own budget and stick to it.

as a guide-last F plate 525i I bought was £87

last 535i I bought was £188.

320Touring, how much do you charge for providing shopping assistance? :)

E30Mark - if you don't want to buy it, let us know the price, I might be interested.

if its in tip top shape its worth a grand you can't make comparisons with the average old 5 series and whilst they might be cheap to buy most will need a great deal of money spent on them to make them decent
