Hi to everyone
Is there someone out there who can help me please?
I have recently acquired a above car but unfortunately the (cloth trimmed) front seats are a bit shabby whilst the back ones are fine having been little used.
Seats are structurally fine (car has only done 65k) and I would like to re-cover or restore front seats and cloth inserts in the front door cards if possible. I live on the Isle of Man so access to expertise seems non existent. I also wish to avoid massive expense.
I would be very grateful for any suggestions/help/info etc that anyone can give as it seems possible to get anything BMW related on line except a solution.
Love to you all.

Hi dude.

E36 I'm guessing from the YOM ?

I'll move to other bmw chat for better response, but......

given the amount of '36 sitting in breakers now, the better option i try and get a better set of seats from a reputable source imho

On the E30, original seat covers are still available from BMW. With the E36 being the newer model, I expect they would stock yours too. All they need is your chassis number.

However, the price of buying new covers and then paying a specialist to retrim the seats would be ridiculous. Best option as stated above is to source direct from a BMW breaker or purchase a decent set of ebay.

E36 seats are very well made - very strange that yours are knackered at such a low mileage. The only problem they really have is with the runners where, after a few years, the seat feels like its moving when you go round corners. BMW have a special tool to fix this fault.

Hi folks and thanks for your comments :D
Here on the Isle of Man there are really no breakers to speak of and I am a little reluctant to buy from say eBay as many who sell do so on collection only basis which is not possible. I am also a bit worried about buying something that when it arrives is a disappointment. :(
As a point of interest what would be an idea of cost of buying BMW covers and trying to get them fitted by an upholsterer or BMW dealer? I really don't have a clue so would be grateful for any indications. Similarly if you know of a good breaker taht I could approach please let me know.
I have found a company called Extreme Trim & Sons who say they can supply bases and covers and that fitting is easy. I am finding all this very confusing as I am told locally that this is all a difficult process.
I have no mechanical knowledge so would be grateful for any and all help anyone can give to sort me out   :?

If you spend some time on ebay and buy from a seller with a good feedback record you should be fine. I understand your reservations about buying goods unseen but it can turn out well too! I got a great pair of front seats posted to me for my car from ebay after careful consideration. They shold be fairly cheap and worth a gamble. Fixing seats is very expensive.

Someone on here should have some seats for you 8)
