been trying to sell my 5 series, it's on pistonheads.com at £725 which I don't think is too high (feel free to correct me).

Had some muppet offer £350, having just put £100 of tax on it last month I think not.

Have used this forum for all the E30 stuff before but the 5 Series forums I've found are based abroad?

thanks, I'll try the 5 series forum, if it's not gone in a few weeks I'll bite the bullet and advertise on autotrader

Hard to say without more information? e34 in a good nick, especially 525i, 520i or tds should fetch that kind of money without much trouble.

They don't seem to have such dedicated following as e30's, this is kind of one of those "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" kind of things I suppose.

I hope if you share the details mods won't take offence and say you're trying to flog it here.

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/173028.htm is the advert

it does have a dent on the arch and a tatty inside, but not put that in the ad and still not even had one call.

Looks nice. I don't know if you can edit pistonheads advert after it's been posted but it would certainly be a good idea to mention any work done on the car, helps to raise its value in buyers eyes. Also trying autotrader would be a good idea.

Don't know how you feel about ebay, just saw a black 520 24v go for 1700 today, but it could have been a scam, looked a bit suspicious, too much money for that car.

Edit: also, just noticed that driver's side mirror is different color, don't you think that might put people off? They can be thinking "if the guy hasn't mentioned that, what else is he hiding?" Not trying to put it down, just pointing out the obvious.

might give it a try, the car looks nice as I used it to practice my detailing on before I attacked the TVR so paint looks clean and fresh, funny as looking so clean I thought it would be snapped up really quick but maybe it's because it's white?

Perhaps about £500 would be a fairer price.

Saw 520i's changing hands for about £400 5 years ago.

True - a white 520i doesn't get the juices flowing and a 525i is a much better bet but the old E34's are a great car really, just bombproof. I just sold a J plate 318i for £700 off but the 3 Series has always been a more saleable car than the 5. I would try it in the AdMag for £695 which sounds a lot less that £725. You will be plagued with Council scratters with £400 and a wanked Vectra to p/x. Good luck........... winkeye :D

Cheers, I will push it a little harder the next few weeks, been away so couldn't do anything till now.

Yeah the mirror is a different colour, I've been looking for a white one on ebay etc and hoping to find one before it goes or knock a bit off the price.

I dropped the price to £650 as think with the recent tax it's worth that, guess the 5 series prices haven't picked up like the e30's, remember a couple of years ago I couldn't give away my 320i now I looked into getting another they are fetching big bucks for a clean one
