hi,i wanna upgrade my e36 suspension,theres some good deals on ebay,jamex set for 189 and bilstein set for 170,what do you reccommend? also,what suspension fits mine from other e36's? im guessing the six cylinders are all the same?? also,on my logbook it says my car is a 325i mse what do's that mean?? cheers

I say go for bilstein which is good all round suspension.

thanks for the reply! mine is a manual! ok,but is bilstein going to lower it at all? the jamex lower by 30-40mm also,am i right about the six cylinder same suspension thing? cheers

yes 6 cyl suspension is the same through out on saloon, not sure if you can fit coupe suspension to a saloon though.

Six cylinder front shocks have different valving to the 316i/318i and different springs. I would avoid Jamex stuff as it's a bit crap. Very early 320i and 325i (H and J plate) have different top mounts to both the 4 cyls and the later 6 cyls.
Go to Euro Car Parts and get a set of standard Bilstein B4 shocks (the black ones) as they are pretty stiff, the equal to the Boge M Technic shock. A set of good used M Technic springs from a Coupe will lower it a bit, otherwise get some Boge lowering springs - 30mm is as far as you want to go.

The part numbers you want are VNE4419 and 4420 (fronts) and 2752 for the rears. theyre not in very good nick at all mate,i'm gonna have a word with a mate of mine tomoro about having them blasted and powder coated,see how much it will cost. if it aint too much i might have them. shame as they could be stunning! havent put my motor on ebay yet,you found any money under your sofa???!!!
