the "alpina" one doesn't look at all good. the alpina bits look sweet but the 'touring' lump looks stuck on.
the other is better though. add the alpina bits and it's a winner!

At first I thought I was looking at a photoshopped image. Look at the building cornerline through the cars glass and how it is distorted by the glass refraction. But I Goggled `e28 touring' images and found some more revealing stuff. Recent post rumbles at other European forums also confirmed the e28 touring to appear genuine although of course `rare'. The tailgate opening has a very cut, shut look. I'm still unsure exactly where you are going to find rear lights if one gets molested...mm... anyways, super rare thing, and can easily look sweet.
I'm positive it was was of those German coachbuilder/tuning houses big in the 70's and 80's that probably executed a limited run of them or perhaps to order with a donor car. Had a similar kind of Oo wtf effect looking at an e3 touring in some Classic Car issue photographed at Christies about a decade ago. And I wonder why I am single.

Looks good from the front and side, but the backend looks like it took its design features from the front of a train
As gareth said th alpine just looks cobbled together, more like a go faster hearse, well i suppose as with any business time is money !!
