Not one panel on that car that was undamaged and its got some funky camber! That is going to the scrapyard and they are paying the excess and will be taking delivery of a new shell and cage in the next week. Crazy money.
And just to keep this ramdomly on track of Other BMW's, the nicest sounding and looking car in the BTCC:
Surely not an old engine like that in a modern BMW touring car. I thought the cars had to be 2.0litre, and I thought BMW only made straight 6 320's. Strange will have to look into it. Certainly is very competetive so it must have about 300bhp.
Did her foot slip on the right pedal andy when going round a corner...
...2 seconds later another m5 bites the dust
Maxfield thats a good link with some good information, so around 2000 of these are being made available for customers. Strange that the road going engine has less horsepower than a 320is Maybe something to do with emissions and longevity.
Slightly off topic... but a mate of mine bought Thruxtons old E55 AMG Safety car (circa 2000 i think), that thing was lethal on the road.... Thankfully sold it on before he killed himself!
Welcome back Maxfield!
1 & 2 bed flats in Bournemouth areas, with parking PM for details
yup, that's what it is. quite different looking to an S42 tbh. these are cool, would like the road going version, shame the shell is so heavy though. same stroke and CR as my M42, smaller pistons on the N45 though to keep it under 2l, think it has slightly smaller valves iirc too (the N46 does anyway).
2.1 318is, MS, LPG. 200bhp, 175ft/lbs GONE!
Boxster, e46 m3, e36 sport touring and alpina B3 3.0

Is it me or do I sniff homologation?
Nice m5...
2000 cars were already made (2005-6), 400 to the uk, for the wtcc.

M5 rules.
I thought BM used 4 pot 2 ltrs for touring car. Surprised to see a 6 cylender there!!
BM used to use the 6 until they realised that the 4 was far superior!
actually joking aside that's pretty much how it is, the 4 pot was lighter and had more torque and power and achieved considerable success.

At the weekend i'll try and upload a bit of video footage of some smashing. Meanwhile search for a porsche crashing at thruxton 07. Its pretty worrying where it ends up

It was just a random guess looks a little like one in my eyes

No gore or detail as such but worrying watching a fellow human die.
Not really interested in that mate.
Vids of French stuff and chav sheds being pummelled is good, death isn't.
Heroic deaths are an expensive vanity.
You dont actually see anyone die as such. There's one shot of someone having cpr but its a long distance shot. Its the crashes that resulted in their deaths and the heroism of the marshall that tried to save them. One of them is truly horrible to watch, the marshall is fighting with the burning wreckage and must have done some serious damage to himself to try and save the driver. He's eventually pulled away by another marshall but you can see he doesnt want to... for a volunteer to be so dedicated speaks volumes about the kind of people that do it.
To be honest, all morbidness aside, its a very well made little film to pay respect to the people that have died in F1 (not just drivers, one is a marshall) and shows graphically how they have improved safety as a result.

I'll watch it with morbid faciniation then!! (110)
That is the link to what happened to the porsche, this was by far the most serious accident of the day, I walked along where it ended up earlier on in the day but luckerly/or unluckerly(depending if you like the guy) I was talking to Jason Plato in the paddock.

I thought I did till I watched that - seeing that other driver frantically trying to get Jochen Rindt out of his burning car and repeatedly getting beaten back by the flames was so sad. Makes you realise how much safer it is these days - no-one's died since Senna...

As far as I've seen from the tech specs all the new 320's are 4 pots!
The E46 had a 2.0ltr 6 pot and the later ones like mine have a 2.2ltr 6 pot M54
EDIT, think I missed a post that already said that...
