I saw this today:

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/144493.htm

It's a very late Bi Turbo with the wide grill. I'm thinking.....upgrade from M5 to this beast?

From what I know these things tear M5's apart and I can say the M5 is a very quick car.

420+ BHP is safely attainable out of these things and a possible 550Nm of torque!

I think I'll be speaking to Pacerpete, he will most likley know something about this car. It might even have been him who rebuilt the engine.

£12,000 is not alot for what is such a beatiful looking machine with e39/e34 M5 bashing performance and super smooth engine.

Decisions decisions.....

Buy It! Buy It! Buy It! thats all I can really say, my mate has one of these beast and quick is the word that comes to mind. I have also seen a B10 bi turbo engine on video that has molested its way into an E30, and quick does not even come close to describe how the E30 was moving.

b10's are the best car ever made. (except possibly b12's)

Buy it, end of.

m30 with twinturbos i think.

its supposedly still the second fastest 4 seater ever built....er dont quote me on that though....and i cant remember what is fastest lol.

think hard before you get one though. not only is it LHD wrongness, a lot of the drivetrain (gearbox especially) and engine stuff is unique to this single model and will no doubt cost the equivalent of a nice house to replace if it goes wrong.

having said that if i had 12k lying around i think it would probably be the only LHD car i would even bother thinking about buying.....a bloke up here has one and its a proper weapon...made my 335i look like a 1 litre fiesta 8)

Nothing wrong with LHD cars. I have found that LHD BMW's drive considerably better than RHD ones.

This applies to the E34, E36 and E46 models.

Bi Turbo is a very scary car when it comes to maintenance costs.

I'll be speaking with a few guys who own them before taking the plunge.

don't let LHD put you off,

personally tho, as much of a beast as it may be, 12k is a lot of wedge to still be in an e34... i really dont get on with their looks!

Actually it's the new Bentley Flying Spur, 550 BHP 0-60 in around 5 seconds and on to just shy of 200 mph. Not bad for something that weighs over 2 tons!!!

Big huge repair bill on the M5 (2 EDC shocks, steering linkages, springs, bushes + huge excess on paint work = £2500+) has rendered me to unable to purchase anything right now.

Teaches me right for tracking the M5 a little too much and driving over wet road paint!

buyer beware, these cars need proper maintenace and few have fallen in to the wrong hands over they years and not maintained properly

brutally quick but super smooth at the same time

not to sure what the max boost on a standard exapmle is but i'm led to belive its about 16psi (1bar) and give out 360hp and similar torque (380ft/lbs)

apparently they can hopd 20psi safely, taking you to over 400bhp

i have one of these engines tucked away in my garage !!
