If it's still going after all this time it has to be reasonably reliable! The enigine (m10) is dead simple and relatively bomb proof. You're problem will be bits of body work falling off.

BMW make the most reliable classics. My dad had a really early E21 316 and that was bomb proof. I drove it all the way to the hungarian F1 GP 1800 miles and it never missed a beat.

Gone but not forgotten.

i used to use a 1967 1600-02 every day of the week 12 mnths ago never had a problem
