Looks like the exhaust cams are gear driven by the inlets and the vanos gear is inside the sprockets

That's correct, same as an M60 except the M60 doesn't have the vanos.

Actually thats bullsh!t!!! The M60 has inlet camshaft driven exhaust camshaft, but it's via a chain, not direct gear drive! I should think more before I type, sorry! :mad: :hammer:
