Hi all,

I'm in need of some advice.

Roughly about 9 or 10 months ago I sold a set of wheels through the parts for sale section. The zoner I sold them to did say it might be a few weeks until he could pick them up so I paid in his cheque in and waited for his call. After 4 or 5 weeks I hadn't had a call so I tried to contact him via PM etc with no reply. I even put up a post asking where he was and no one knew. I managed to get his number from another zoner but there was no answer when I tried to call on different days/times.

Months passed with no reply with me trying to contact via PM etc.

I honestly thought this zoner had died, gone to prison, emigrated or ????? No one knew where he was?????

A few weeks ago a friend of my brother asked about them as he saw them and my brother & dad were moaning about them being in the way. And as I had not had any contact with the zoner I sold them again.
Whether this was the right thing to do I don't know.

Is there a common law regarding this sort if situation?
(like if someone doesn't pick up the goods after a certain amount of the time the goods become property of the seller again???)

Not quite sure what to do as the zoner has now contacted me (eventully) ???

Some sort of of settlement? Partial refund? Or???

I'm not an unreasonable chap and I want to keep in good stead with zoners.

If anyone has been in a similar situation any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers :thumb:

Did he give a reason why it took him so long as to contact you? If it were me, id offer him some of his money back, but not all of it. Call it a storage charge. 10 month is unreasonable.

Partial refund. 10 months is a long time to hold onto something. i'd have re-advertised them after a couple of weeks but I'm a tad impatient lol.

If he wants his money back then the simplest thing to do to avoid one of those ridiculous forum wars would be to give him back his money. I mean, you haven't incurred any costs yourself by storing the wheels presumably so you'll not be out of pocket yourself.

Just resolve never to do business with this guy again, write a fair comment on the feedback section of the forum and put it down to experience.

Well, that's what I'd do anyhow.

Hi guys.

The chap gave no reason for not collecting the wheels. I share the same opinion as Dips and Eko is this one.

Thanks again guys.

P.S. Dips - Did that breyton under bumper spoiler I sold you ever make its way onto one of your projects?
