Well, I've been promising myself that I'd buy a replacement shell for Brown for some time now so I tootled off to see another car today. Think Brown saw me though :(

Anyway, as it turned out, the guy has two E30s, one red 325i auto G-reg which is in miles better nick than Brown with solid wheel arches and eeeeverything and the other, a 320 on an F plate I think, which is looking a bit sorry for itself and hasn't got T or T.

Upshot is that I bought them both (subject to me being able to get the less good one home legally).

Hooray for having many an E30!

Piccies as I get them :)

Yeah I know, gonna have to spend some time swapping all the oily bits from Brown to Red and then disposing of the corpse

Then it's full steam ahead with the UBER turbo winkeye

Brown seemed that little bit keener to prove himself on the way back from seeing these two cars thinking about it.

Think I'm gonna miss the ol' boy when he's gone.

How's this work then:

I got an insurance quote with a reputable company through their site which covered me TPFT for 3000 miles a year and it came to almost £700 on the 325 Auto.

At the same time I entered exactly the same details barring these into confused: Fully comp and 5000 miles a year and, lo and behold, that same company came in at less than £500!

What's that all about?!

probably down to the risks involved in the drivers who go for each policy type. i've found that basic 3rd party is often more expensive than tpf&t as the people who go for that are often a higher risk and it bumps up the premiums! i always ask for all options.

my wife is fully comp on her corrado (and 525i sport before that) and that is cheaper than tpf&t.

 I'll say yes now, and then forget by the time it comes around :)

Just picked up the red one and had the most relaxing drive home!

Can't believe how smoothly the ol' slushbox shifts, everything seems to work, the suspesion's as crap as it was on Brown, as are the brakes, no oil pressure gauge to nervously check or anything!

Soon change that :D

Almost everything from Brown will go into Red and I'll probably flog the remnants of Red's mechanicals and then, regretably, send Brown off to a square doom :(
