is 140k a lot of miles on this engine or is it just run in

Should be ok really, with that sort of mileage, if it's been looked after properly then should be cool. Take it for a test drive if that's available....What reg is it?
My dad has one of these on a P reg 97 it had major engine failure, and it had only 80k on the clock, the dealership ended up having to foot the bill for the repair carried out, after an independent inspector type chap, came and checked it out the engine and diagnosed that it should not have fcuked up really with those sort of miles on it...hence nearly brand new engine, at a cost of 3.5k
with labour..
