my mates been driving round in this for a while now, to put some miles on it. its one of the launch cars, that will be on show later this year...

what do you think? its a 325i, but with quite a spec

personally, i quite like it. the 335i's look much better, as they've got shadowline trim, 19" alloys, different front and rear bumpers, etc, but as a standard 3 series coupe goes, its not bad. you'll have to go a long way to beat the look of the E46 Ci M-Sports... and the E30!!!!

the M3 is getting fatter arches, similar to E30 M3 style, 19"/20" split rims, quad exhaust, aerodynamically gifted front and rear bumpers, bulged bonnet and a different ride setup

gonna be 400bhp fatness!!!!

Looks like a lovely place to sit, but I have to say I don't like it very much. The front looks like someone's inflated an E46 and the back looks like a Merc!

dont mind it to much :? but IMO i think it makes the sport saloon look more attractive.

it will probably grow on you as you see more about though.

It's a bit big. The 3 series has really fattened up over the years.

I personally think the Lexus IS250 is a better looking car.

The only BMW's that look good out of the current line up are the 6 series and the 5 series.

The E30 and the E46 facelift 3 series have been the best looking so far.

what you have to remember guys is that BMW are not going to go back to designing cars like they use to. Look at all the other cars designed in the 80's Lancia, 190e and VW golfs all had the same style grills; at the time it was the "best" shape for manufacturers to oblige to probably for aerodynamic purposes etc; but times move on; i mean if they released the new 3 series coupe that looked the same as or similar to an e30, or even more boxy, yes about 10000 members on here would love it, but about a quabillion people round the world would be like, why the fuck are you taking your designs two or three miles back, making your cars less aerodynamic etc etc.

dont get me wrong, i love the e30 shape; but if every car was deisgned boxy and e30 like wouldt we be bored!?

personally i quite like it, although i hate the four doors!

i dont personally like the front end of any of the new beemers...the lights and grille are just minging.

but like someone said above bmw arent marketing these cars to a piss poor scotsman like me lol

i will probably buy a 5 series (the one after the e39) when it drops to my price though (hmmm 2020ish)

i could just about live with the front end of one of those cos i love the back so much 8)

i didnt like the lights at first, but they grow on you. they look mean, like an animal snarling at you! as dan said, the cars are designed aerodynamically. theres not a lot of drag considering the caris the size/shape it is, and its very up-to-date and modern.

and as the i-drive goes, i think its great! but then, i know how to use it properly!!!

this car has got loadsa trick-bits and creature comforts. such as when you disarm the car, the side lights fade in, and arming the car, the sidelights fade out. looks really effective and cool!! also, underneath the trim panel on the door card is fibre-optic strip, which casts a low ambience light down the leather, to make it feel 'cozy'!!!

its stacked with goodies, and the i-drive has become even better, with voice activation, etc

personally, its ok, but the M-Sport saloon looks better (apart from the rear lights!!) and i hope the M-Sport coupe will look even better than that!!

I think they are great!

Look very mean, gonna do well i think, and the new style do grow on ya!

And with the i -Drive, as above like stu, i think its great, because i also know how to use it properly!
(dont ya love BMW courses)

The car i do love is the 535d M Sport!
didnt liek it at first, but has really grown on me!

Hmm...very rounded looking all round - almost Audi-esque, with just the lights, grille and dog-leg window frame to distinguish it. Another Chris Bangle design I guess? Still can't believe the look of that 1-series monstrosity he came up with, shaped like a particularly clompy shoe. :? You can't beat the good ol' classic shark-nose look IMHO - sharp, dynamic, aggressive, distinctive 8)

Personally i think it looks a fat and ugly. There seems to be nothing that sets if appart from all the other modern cars out there. I hope the m looks better but am sure all the city boys will love it so there will be loads on the road soon.

as ben said, its a standard model, its not gonna be fantastic. but see it in the flesh, and it looks great!! and take a drive in one, the chassis is impeccable

about i-drive... bmw is one of the big players in car technology, they have had this i-drive idea for a few years now, and they will keep on using it, this is good, because when other manufacturers go to a similar system, theirs won't be as good as bmw's one which by then will be well established as well being well designed and working well... i predict VW and Audi to be next on the i-drive idea.... sorry but bmw got there first. thumbs up for bmw there, nice car by the way, i bet the M3 will look amazing if the 3 series looks standard like that.

he works for BMW GB. so when new models get released, they give them to the staff to put miles on them, ready for the launch date.

he got told NOT to take it to ANY BMW dealerships and not to park it in public. the latter is nothing to do with photos of it, just damage
