Just took it in to BMW for an oil service got a phone call......
You need some new brake fluid £41.38
Your rear coils are broke £244.60
Your rear brakes and shoes need replacing (didnt quote price as i do these myself)
A corroded exhaust bracket £38.69
All of the back of a £127 oil serivce if i was to have all this work including VAT thats something like £530 ouch.
How hard is it to change the rear coils does anyone know? I would like to do it myself it would be interesting to do.

unless bmw issued a recall on them
you have no chance of a freebie
bit worrying really
did it feel obvious that they were buggered??
guess i better check the mrs e46 323 when i have a moment
she hammers the crap out of it all time
as for the other stuff you need
do some diy mate
or go to an independant garage

Cheers Daz,
I turned up to pick the car up and said 'how come you checked the rear coils on an oil serivce?' the woman said its just standard procedure during an oil check. I said funny that cause ive found out on the net that there is a fault with them.
She went bright red and I then said so you must know this already and that is why you checked them, she had to agree with me and said cause i havent dont that many miles in my 51 plate that she is going to contact BMW next week and see if they will do it as a good will jesture for me.
As for the other stuff i will be doing a DIY job myself.

Yeah the rear spings in a common fault and should be done free of charge - course I found this out after paying for new ones
Nevermind, put Eibachs on there now!
My granddad's saloon had them snap too, they replace those FOC even though the car is 6 or so years old. That was at a dealer in Austria though, he didnt even need to argue with them.
