I realise that this isnt an E30, but it comes from the same stock so i thought i'd share my story.

i got this E28 in november last year for £175. Completely stock (with metric alloys on it) with tax and MOT, 80 000miles, and only 1 previous owner, making me the second owner since its conception in 1985.

its completely rust free and runs sweet as a nut so i decided to keep it stock. unfortunately, in early january, somebody took a hammer to the car smashing all the doors, every single window and slashing the tyres.

Since then, its been standing in a mates drive and i have slowly been doing it up. i have now changed all four doors and rewired everything as all the connectors were different. i have put a new rear window in and will put the new front window in on monday.

i got some 15" BBS alloys with tyres and the M-Tec kit for £110 which i consider to be a bargain, and the car is going into the bodyshop on Monday or Tuesday to have it fitted and spraked, though probably not in that order. Heres a few more pics, and i hope that by the end of next week i'll be able to put the finished results up.

PS. i am looking for lowering springs for this car, so if any1 has any idea's where i could find some that would be great. im only a student so not exactly flush with ca$h so the cheaper the better.

my mates got a project e28 was a 2.5 and were currently doing a bare shell re-build, and putting a 3.5 in out of an e34. its going to be used as a drift car, so has nothing inside apart from seat steering wheel and a couple of dials. Were at the spraying stage as everything is off and preped. All the suspension parts have been sandblasted and resprayed which were doing today, so hopefully it should all be done and on the road within a month depending on the weather.

what have you got planned for yours.

I've got loads planned. the main thing im unhappy with is its an Auto which i dislike. i'm gonna get a dogleg in before the summer if i can find 1 in good nick. also an LSD perhaps. suspension wise im gonna pick up an M-tec set soon i hope although to be honest the current shocks are nearly new. steering rack is worn so i will replace that, but engine wise, i'm not sure. i have an M30 3.5 lying around with a manual box stuck to it so i mite just go and change the whole affair. if your putting in a 3.5l you mite be able to give me some pointers luke???

seems like a lot of work for a £500 car?!

bad news about being vandalised..wouldn't it have been easier to buy a miley E28 and swap all the good bits over...??

well done to persevere with the rebuild tho.

What sort of mentality does it take to think "I know, I think I'll go grab a hammer and smash up this lovely old classic beemer that isn't mine"
Honestly, it makes my blood boil, why is there space and worse still, a need for these complete retards to be part of our society!

:Hmmmm I've come over all politcal mode: off :x
