ok i have a e46 s reg
the alarm keyfob has 3buttons for alarm and boot release etc
prob is the main button (rubber) isnt contacting when pressed
have had a look and the rubber pole bit that pushes on the board has worn

so my question
can i buy from anywhere just the plastick key housing with buttons rubber etc???

cos dealer wants £100 for a new key
which considering the fault is a 2p bit of rubber is pishing me off somewhat

any ideas help

cheers

I had a similar problem with a button on a digital camera once
All I did was put a small blob of glue on the point that the rubber pushes against and let it dry. This raised that point up slightly and the button worked again, still works fine.

Could be worth a try, dont blame me if it cocks up your key though
Cheers,
Robin
