Is a patched up 728 worth 4500 though? Maybe if it was in good original condition, in my opinion

The carb version was rare for a reason; the Solex carb gave poor mpg and was prone to issues.

The fuel injected models (for which Motronic was first introduced, incidentally) were far superior.

Yep, my E12 had one

No major issues apart from a weird cutting out thing which only happened on really long journeys (200+ miles). Slightly disarming when doing the thrusting 1970s executive thing on the fast lane of the M1
