Is a patched up 728 worth 4500 though? Maybe if it was in good original condition, in my opinion

The carb version was rare for a reason; the Solex carb gave poor mpg and was prone to issues.

The fuel injected models (for which Motronic was first introduced, incidentally) were far superior.

Yep, my E12 had one :D No major issues apart from a weird cutting out thing which only happened on really long journeys (200+ miles). Slightly disarming when doing the thrusting 1970s executive thing on the fast lane of the M1 8O
