Just spotted this Park Lane supplied iS in Mayfair. Much classier than all the stretch Maybachs and Range Rovers

I imagine the look on the faces of "car spotters" in Mayfair, when they saw you taking a picture of a 20 year old 318 :D

..so many haterzzzz :D An unmolested (probably) one owner E36 is a rare thing. Perfect transport for the narrow streets in London. Like a Bristol 603 for the 90s

No. They lost the plot with the e65 7's. The e36 was a good effort but never my cup of tea to be honest. But there's no denying that they were still a great car compared to other thing around when they came out.

E36s are a great budget smoker. They are relatively simple and the bits are everywhere for much cheapness. I have just bagged a 'pact for a hundred sovs ! :D She's an arctic silver Ti auto with all the fruit including ice cold air, PDC and a very odd blue interior. Even better is that she has only done 38500 miles and will be going to her new custodian by the weekend :D :D

The E36 was BM's rendition of the "jelly mould" look that every car brand was doing at the time. Considering we went from the E30's boxy framework with twin lamps to this was too much.

I had one (320i) and I remember it was a great ride.

Best all round 3 Series IMO. Cheap to run, easy to maintain and a great engine line up. These were a revelation when new and made an E30 feel very old in comparison which admittedly is part of an E30's charm. A good E36 is still a great car that is not leagues behind an E46 or E90. Most of them are shagged out rubbish now though :(

The only e36s worth having are 325i, 328i, M3 Evolution.

Don't get my started on the 'pact. The shame in driving that you need a cardboard box to hope no one sees you how can you have any respect when you only have 4 cylinders.

I get what you mean about park lane supplied car in park lane. But still is 318iS. If it was E30 325i or something nicer then yeah. There is a holland park plated 840Ci in Knightbridge.

The e36 in terms of design language I remember seeing in digust the new BMW brochure opening it up and telling the BMW dealer I didn't like it. It almost seems like there was a model missing between e30 and e36. Never driven a proper e36 but e30 has all that RWD goodness we know and love. Perfect for impressing lasses and then with my Scottish charm can thrust them!!
