A nice six is a fine chariot. Unfortunately not many are nice, in spite of what the sellers tell you and you would be amazed how quickly you can spend 3-4k on a fairly up together car to dot the i's and cross the T's
These are a whole different ball game to E30s and so are the bills !

I paid over the 5k mark, by all means I am sure there will be a few surprises in store but looking at the pics even she looks nice, she drove nice and smooth and the interior for the age of the car was fantastic.
I do think she suits the colour as well to be honest love it on the e30s as well a˜Ž
Just nothing nice in the e30 range that's nice for sale at the moment and the price for the old 6 is not that bad for the condition.
Check these pics from the add its still up at £5.100

I prefer the E28 to the E24 but wouldnt mind it. All depends on the price and for whatever reason it's been sitting there for the time it has although it doesn't look too bad a condition. It's an automatic and reg is B778 HCF

As you know I bought this 6 I put a deposit down £1000, arranged to pick up Monday as the owner was away for the weekend told me the car would be in his garage .
Went to a classic car show at the Trafford centre and guess what was parked up in the parking area .
Thought when a deposit has been paid the car should not be used.
Opinions please .

Personally I wouldn't be fussed. Did you explicitly state it wasn't to be used?

I would be annoyed! Whenever I take deposit I dont use the car, only needs an idiot with a trolley to ruin the sale!

Amen at least somebody's thinks the same a˜Ž.
Annoyed is right £1000 deposit you can safely say the car is sold, not my fault he said he was away over the weekend !
Saying the car is still his to use and do what he wants until balance is paid, what's the point of a deposit then what's wrong with people this days a˜”

Mmmm. The car is still his to do what he likes with until he receives full and final payment. Unless it as stated that the car would not under any circumstances, be used, then he's fully entitled to use it.
Say it was his only transport and his new car was not available until the day you were supposed to collect. Hows he going t get to work?

Technically the car is still his and can do what he wants within reason.
Unless you stated he couldn't drive it?

Yeah I suppose I can see it from both sides, just a shock seeing it parked up at a show when it's supposed to be parked up safe and sound that what I was led to believe .

Deposit means = the car is sold to you and off the market. It is still HIS car to do as he pleases until you come with the rest of the dollarz. I personally would park the c0000nt up and not touch it until you are en route ! But I am a glass half empty with a hole in it kind of saddo

The 6 is home safe and sound so can't complain, but I guess the fun starts now lol all the gremlins start to show there ugly heads.
Hardly any fuel left in the old girl where have all the old skool car sellers gone, coolent level warning sign is on the obc but the temp is fine but will get it checked.
The 6 is very old skool to drive sort of like a bigger version of the e30, very smooth and quite tho
Going to have to be a 840 next time few more creature comforts.
The lights are not all that bright for night time driving and the wipers ha ha in the rain today nightmare a˜Ž
