got a 1999 318i touring, mint , loaded, all toys working, new tires, new mot, strong engine but.....the auto box isnt getting much power from the engine.junctions are hairy, but up at 30mph plus its fine. i have narrowed it down (maybe) to the torque converter. manual selection no better.if the seals go and pressure drops is it the end?. ecu ok i think and ABS, ACS lights out, wheel speeds sensors not checked tho.any common faults that cause the auto box to play up.

Could be the idle control valve on the throttle body. This is ASC controlled and when they go tits up the engine bogs down and has bugger all power.

As its Bosch management there could be 20 faults that the ECU doesn't know about

You'd have as much luck code reading a Morris Oxford as an E36.
