I've no cold air coming through my vents but i've got an erratic climate control unit. As in turning itself on or off randomly.

The system is gassed up, the compressor is running when the engine is on ( i leave the A/C on all the time), electric fan working. Hedgehog ok so i'm at a loss as to whats going on.

No blown fuses, anyone has something similar? I think my A/C is working but i'm not getting the cold air into the cabin :?

Could be the heater fan. My green 318i is doing something similar - tried 3-4 hedgehogs and 3-4 known working climate units but occasionally, no fan. So I removed the bulkhead cover and just by tapping it, the motor sprang into life.

when the unit is switched on all the controls and fan work, just no A/C air. I'll have a poke about the fan.

I've taken a picture of this ABS unit at last i'll send you the snap later

Im guessing the compressor is not running all the time, starts then stops maybe? Otherwise the evaporator would be cold and you would get cold air, you should be able to feel the pipes at the back of the dash next to the steering column are the pipes cold?

i'll check, but yes i was up under the car with the engine running and the compressor was cutting in and out.

My A/C Control unit has a mind of its own. Goes on and off with A/C in in tow.
